I love it when couples see each other before hand. It allows for such great moments.

The whole wedding party limoed down to Michigan Ave and the river to do a little stylin' photo shoot.

I LUUUVE this shot!

This was shot at the Wrigley Building. Kim's Grandfather, Glen Bostrom once had a few floors of this building for his business and for many more years, had offices across the street at the Tribune Tower. I though it was so cool to take photos here.

Unscripted but not unexpected in the Windy City

Right smack dab in the middle of Michigan Ave. Yeah Baby!

Does it get an cuter than this? Ok, I know of one particular 8 month old that might do it for me:)

These next few were so awesome. Across the street from the venue was this amazing, classic Chicago park (did you know Chicago had tons of these little neighborhood parks? They make the city so interesting and welcoming.)

Light! it is so worth it to take advantage of the best light of the day for bride and groom photos!!!

These are some of my all time favorite bride and groom photos. I don't think any commentary is necessary.

I rented a few lenses for this busy week from BorrowLenses.com. They were awesome to work with. A Fisheye 15mm 2.8.

Emily & Eric
Emily was one of Kim's Maids of Honor and gave an awesome toast that if I understood right, she wrote while traveling in Spain. Very cool.
Anyway, Emily contacted me about shooting her wedding in Milwaukee next spring at the AMAZING Villa Terrace. This is my shameless request to let you know Emily how much I would love to come up there. Pleeeese! Ha ha.

Awesome DJs. Mixed the music old school the whole night and did a bang up job!

If I remember right, this would be the "Journey" time in the playlist.

A little head banging to close out the night.=!

Man I am thankful I got to be a part of such a great day with great people!

Kim and Jack were truly such fun people to be around. When I post their engagement photos in a day or two, you will see how much they just laugh together and enjoy being with each other. It was truly an honor to capture such a great weekend full of events and the times that are going to be so memorable for everyone involved.

A beautiful Mothers Day

Enjoying a nice walk with the 3 girls. Mom showed elaina this funny
new face.

Luckiest Kids in the world / Happy Mother's Day /

The kids in our family, my sister and myself included, definitely have the best mothers we could ever ask for.
I can honestly say there has never been a day in my life that I haven't known that my mom loved me absolutely and would do anything for me. Aside from being super loving and always supportive, she is smart, innovative, generous and as you will see below, quite a good dancer.
It was so nice to have a wedding last week in Chicago that had a family connection. The bride is my brother-in-law's cousin so my sister's family and Mom and Keith were there. Here are some fun images from last Sunday and Tuesday up at the family condo in Lake Geneva.

My sister Keighly and my Mom...

How much better does it get than a wedding party shoot downtown Chicago on a beautiful day in May?

We did a really fun and nostalgic engagement shoot the next day. These two luckies live a couple blocks from Wrigley.

Many more images and slideshows to come today through Saturday.

Kicking off wedding season!!!

Hey faithful blog fans. It is nice to know when I spend all time on this "conversation in faith" we call a blog, that there are veritable tens of tens of you out there who can't wait to find out what's happening. :) ha! Yeah right, shut up and post an image Todd.

I fortunately have had wonderful clients who keep me going in the winter, in addition to all the handcrafted albums I work on during the brown season in Oklahoma. (I have been making a lot of progress lately). But still 7 weddings in the last 5 months will feel like time off compared to the summer around here. I made some nice changes last year in pricing that allow me to not be overbooked so the next 6 months is looking sweet. Full but not overcooked.

So the next few this month:

Kate & Jarrod
Westminster Presbyterian & The Hilton Skirvin Hotel // Oklahoma City

from their engagement shoot this spring

Kim & Jack
The Newberry Library // Chicago

from Melissa & Ryan's wedding last fall. We are going for a really cool Chicago engagement shoot the day after their wedding!. Awesome, I love Chicago.

Chrissy & Cory
Walnut Creek

from their engagement shoot this spring.

It's go time!

I am really going to do my best to blog these weddings within 3 days of the event so be sure to check back often in the next few weeks for all the good times!

Kristen & Ryan / 04.12.08 / updated!

Kristen & Ryan got married a couple weeks ago on a beautiful spring day (of course!)
It really was such a great experience working with these two. Ryan was always involved in the process and definitely the kind of guy I hope to continue to be friends with. They both really trusted me through the whole process from shooting to framing and scheduling the day of. Hence the perfect light for their B&G photos. More than anything, this couple cared for each other so much. That is one of the really cool benefits of working with a newlywed couple week after week. They can remind you so many times of the basics of what makes a relationship great.

Thanks you two for being so great and big congrats on your new life!!

here are all the great vendors who made it happen:
Venue: Walnut Creek
Hair: Cosmopolitan Salon
Makeup: Ulta
Dress: David's Bridal
Tuxedo: Dillard's
Floral: Flowers by Pat
Cake: Sweete Connections
Videoography: Video Legacy

I suppose the last time she can wear this...

Gettin' her smoke on!

The girls traveled in style.

and this little diva for one was lovin' every minute of it.

I love it when couples see each other before hand. It usually allows for some great light and time to capture some very real and amazing images. I get to hang out in the distance and shoot authentic moments from some great angles.

My style of wedding party photos. Each week a little different, just like the people involved.

The big moment! (one of them at least)

Workin' the crowd.

Now the ones who really make it happen. Congrats parents!

The best of times indeed.

Congrats and thanks again Kristen and Ryan!
