Tara & Craig // 06.06.08

OK, this post has almost 50 images. That's some long winded photo posting. Hence I will keep the comments brief, since writing is obviously not my strong suit, (I hear those amens :( )

SLIDESHOW LINK AT THE END OF THE POST

I will say as I did in the post below though that Tara & Craig and their families have been so fun to work with. Aside from being such super nice people, they have been so excited about photography and into some great shoots.
June 6th was a gorgeous day and The Dominion House in Guthrie provided such a classy venue.

Here are the pros who made it happen. (as always, thank for giving me such great material to work with!!!)

Bridal Consultant, Cake, Catering: The Dominion House / Julie Ayers

Tara had such a stylin' dress. Check out her bridal shoot

a great candid but oh so artistic shot from Bethany.

Photographers Note: TRA 1&2: Grandma's Tap Shoes, Select-o-Pop, Vignette & Blur

Photographers Note: TRA2: Dirty Diana, Ged Faded (summer)

Photographers Note: TRA2: BAMF b&w

Photographers Note: TRA2: Grandma's Tap Shoes, Ged Faded (summer), some yin, a little yang

another great alternate angle from Bethany.

now that's what I call a relaxed portrait.

I saw this same pose from an old photo inside. I don't know who it is of (help me out Julie) but it was cool to recreate it.

Photographers note: almost all these images were processed with the new Totally Rad Actions 2 : The Revenge. And Rad they are. Too tired tonight to put in which actions were used on which photos. Maybe soon.

Happy Dad's Day

I know this is the kind of stuff that goes in a card but since I have written much of this many times (and meant it each time) I thought I would brag about him worldwide to my tens of readers :)

My Dad is definitely my "Dad"...
He is the best dad (and now example for me) in so many ways...(let me count them):
I think probably most memorable throughout my life, he has always been my biggest fan. I would have a really amazing photo of my Dad and me putting next to Tiger with his dad back when we played in a lot of tournaments together except of course, my dad was taking the picture. :) From all my endeavors when I was a kid, to my golf career to my business. He has always been there cheering me on.

Secondly, he has always provided for us. Of course when we were growing up but even ever since, he has been so generous in my life getting started in moving to Oklahoma, getting married, starting my business and now starting our family. I definitely could not have done it with out you Dad.

Lately and most inspiringly (wow, I didn't know that was a word until spell check didn't flag it ;) ) he has had such an amazing attitude and strength battling cancer. For the last 13 years, he has studied, changed his diet, sought the best treatments and had such a positive attitude while trying to stay ahead of prostate cancer. I couldn't ask for a better example in being strong and proactively doing what needs to be done, but at the same time keeping positive and not dwelling on it.

I Love you Dad!

Here are some great photos from the last year.

When Elaina was just a couple weeks old...

Dad and Carol on their wedding day last December.

If it has to be a tie, it's going to be a bowtie! Fits you perfectly Daddio!

It also happens to be his birthday. Happy Birthday Dad!

Tara // bridal fashion

At Tara & Craig's wedding last Friday, a friend jumped up to the mic after a few toasts, (after starting with "let's all get crunk in this place tonight" -HA HA :)-He said Tara was "like the nicest person on the planet." I have to agree. She and her family have been a joy to work with for the last year for planning, engagement and bridal shoots. As you will see below, Tara also happens to be stunningly beautiful.
Here is one preview image from the wedding (more to come in the next 24-48 hours)

and one of my all time favorite bridal fashion shoots.
We had the wonderful fortune of shooting at Bob & Sharon May's residence in Gaillardia (family friends of the Knights) and then up to the Clubhouse.

Enjoy them and at the end there is a surprise!!!

Now for the surprise! A new look I am experimenting with...

The last two are my first ever posted images using textured layers. The first one is a texture I captured the other day just around the corner from my house. The second is from the exterior walls of the clubhouse she is in front of.

What do you think of this new addition to my style?

Must give credit where it is due...I was inspired in the texture idea from the amazing Jesh de Rox. Do yourself a favor and experience his site.

Chrissy & Cory // 05.10.08

Whew! I have been shooting, editing & album designing like crazy lately. Sorry for neglecting you little blog. :(

I resume with some images below from Chrissy & Cory's beautiful spring wedding a month ago at Walnut Creek.

Here are the pros who made it all happen:
Accomodations: The Skirvin Hilton
Venue: Walnut Creek
Videography: Video Legacy

I got this alt. angle second shooting for myself. Thanks for the good idea to Eric the videographer!

"Heayyy" The best man/ bouncer. :)

A great shot (above) from Bethany Petrone, my faithful and talented second shooter!

The aforementioned best man got thrown a challenge when the ring was apparently tied to the pillow by an over-zealous boy scout. Fortunately he overcame it with brut force.

4 sisters+yellow outfits+yellow flowers+dance music=major fun!

Thanks so much for having me be a part Chrissy and Cory. Chrissy has made me feel so good the whole way because she has been so pumped about photography.
Here is part of a note she sent me after I posted their images on Pictage: "All worth it!!!!! They are so freaking good, I can't even believe how well all of them turned out! ...I'm so so pleased. I just thought I'd let you know how fabulous we all think they are. Thanks a bunch for everything..."

As you can imagine, hearing that regularly keeps me pretty motivated to get the most rockin' images possible for all you cool clients. Ha! Ok, yes that was a little shameless self-promotion. But it was at least a little bit thanking Chrissy for being so excited about my work. :)

Emails lost for June 4-5...

If you have emailed me in the last 36 hours, I may not have received it. Apparently I had about 6000 junk mail hiding on my online webmail server and it was full.

I apologize... Please resend if you sent an email since yesterday morning.
