Leslie & Jeremy // 11.08.08

**SLIDESHOW ADDED AT THE END OF THE POST**

I was so honored to be a part of such an amazingly stylish and well planned event. Every detail was thought of and I think every member of the bridal party and guests was so well taken care of. A testimony to the Lewis and Greenfield families good hearts. Leslie and Jeremy are so good together...whether during their engagement shoot where they convinced me very quickly how in love they were, to dealing with the "little" stresses of a wedding day, they just fit.

Talmadge Powell, the event designer did such an amazing job as you will see. I watched a little of the the Presidential Inaugural Luncheon and I think this wedding edged that out in terms of style and service. (I mean it!)

Also it was such a pleasure to have my friend Josh McCullock shoot with me for this wedding. The schedule was tight, so among lots of other great shots, sending him over to the Phillbrook to get the myriad of details was invaluable. Thanks Josh!!!

Leslie & Jeremy // Engagement Photos

In the prime of the fall weather, I met Leslie & Jeremy up on Historic Rt. 66 for a super stylin' engagement shoot.

Hey giddy pre-marital bliss can be a little cheesy sometimes right?

But there's nothing cheesy about Christian Louboutin shoes. Saaaweet! (I confess, I didn't know what they were until I saw Jasmine Star's blog post on them...)

We ended up at Tres Suenos Winery for a gorgeous sunset (I always order one of those up for my clients).

Not too long after this shoot, I had the amazing visual pleasure of shooting these guys UH-MAZING!!! wedding. That post is cooking right now.

The Brides of Oklahoma Magazine // Published

I am so thrilled to be published in The Brides of Oklahoma Magazine for both of the 2009 Issues.
Huge thanks to Kami and Ashley, the 2 amazing publishers of this beautiful new magazine.

It is like 1000 pages (or something like that) of the best wedding planning resources for Oklahoma.

I am most excited about the Brides of the Seasons Featured Wedding they chose. It is on pages 59-63.
I also had the pleasure of shooting the publishers portraits, a gown shoot and a cake shoot.
2 more weddings I shot are in the wedding announcement pages in the back.
And my new ad is on the back inside cover.

Be sure to pick up a copy at any local bookstore or nice vendors in town.
OR...you can stop by here at my home studio anytime and get a signed copy from me. (Ok, kidding about the signed part but you can get a free copy from me)

here are all the images used in the magazine.

Thoughts on Photography & Business

/ thoughts on photography
I love shooting photo-journalistically and love shooting artistically. My aim each shoot is to help you relax, have fun and capture authentic images that are so “you”. My way of doing this is simply to get to know you, pay attention to what gets you excited and enjoy the challenge of letting personalities and environment inspire me each time I shoot. I am more than a documentarian though; emotion, artistic style and memories of real moments are what give our lives meaning. I love that I can capture that in images.

/ thoughts on business
I honestly am so thankful I get to work for people and produce a product and service that they get excited about (in fact usually thrilled). Since starting my business, I have always wanted to do hand-crafted style projects and treat people the way I want to be treated as a customer. I like it when the important things I buy are of the highest quality, have options to make it the way I want it and have people involved, not policies. Running a business and being an artist can be a difficult mixture but I want the art and craftsmanship to always win out.

About me.

I just did a copy-paste from my eHarmony.com profile.

my normal me is to get a little long winded so how 'bout some highlights:

/ grew up in Lake Geneva, Wi
/ hung out in Chicago a fair amount
/ came to Oklahoma University to play golf in '94
/ met Jesus. he changed my life!!!
/ loved being a youth pastor for 7 years. (best time of my life)
/ started multimedia business in 2000
/ started photography as hobby in 2001
/ shot 1st wedding in 2003
/ married Oklahoma hottie, Anna Rose
/ OUR DAUGHTER WAS BORN SEPTEMBER 22, 2007. THE BEST THING EVER
/ dream about moving to Santa Barbara (or Oregon) Who knows...

/ favorite parts of wedding photography: capturing an authentic moment...going to a killer party every weekend...making brides cry (tears of joy of course)

New Logo!!!

In honor of the big Brides of Oklahoma Magazine launch with my fancy schmancy new ad on the back inside cover, I thought I would bust out the new logo I have been tinkering with for the better part of last year.

Leave a comment and tell me what it speaks to you. (then I'll tell you if you are hearing correctly-ha!)

To see it in all it's glory, pick up a copy of Brides of Oklahoma Magazine, turn the mag over and open to the first page.

Wedding Artists

So much more than "vendors" (that always makes me think of candy bar machines or hot dog stands).
These are other professionals I have worked with and aside from doing amazing work, I have seen them operating professionally and dependably.
I highly recommend them!

UNITED [PEOPLE] OF AMERICA

We can certainly all agree and be inspired by these words. Now let's do it!!!

"So let us mark this day with remembrance, of who we are and how far we have traveled. In the year of America's birth, in the coldest of months, a small band of patriots huddled by dying campfires on the shores of an icy river. The capital was abandoned. The enemy was advancing. The snow was stained with blood. At a moment when the outcome of our revolution was most in doubt, the father of our nation ordered these words be read to the people:

"Let it be told to the future world ... that in the depth of winter, when nothing but hope and virtue could survive... that the city and the country, alarmed at one common danger, came forth to meet [it]."

America. In the face of our common dangers, in this winter of our hardship, let us remember these timeless words. With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure what storms may come. Let it be said by our children's children that when we were tested, we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back, nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God's grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations."

~President Barack Obama

Back in the USA

We are back in the office (and classroom as the case may be) after having a wonderful trip to Mexico for the last couple weeks. I will post all about it after I climb the mountain of email I have in front of me. Thanks so much for giving us the chance to rest and get ready for a great year (as if you had the choice) :)

Here is one image I liked from my favorite beach in Cabo.
(the new header image was also shot from our patio on a full moon night)
