Welcome.

Hi. Hey! Welcome. Benvenudo. BonJour. Yo!
Ok, that should just about cover it. Until I blow up in the China market.

I really am glad you're here. I have to confess, blogging wasn't a talent I was born with so it has been a little slow coming and evolving. But I run into people all the time who tell me they check this thing so you have convinced me to keep it up.
I hope you will have fun checking in and seeing some images from the amazing weddings I get to photograph and some of the best times of people's lives, including our own. Even though I won't be able to hear you, if you laugh at my weak attempts at humor on here, it will make me feel better and of course bloggers live for comments so show me some love.

Make it easy on yourself and add me to your RSS feed and if once a week isn't enough for you, you can follow my daily happenings on twitter. Now this is getting wierd.

Anh & Matthew // Pre-Release

I got to head back to the grounds of my glory days with the OU golf team at Oak Tree CC for Anh & Matthew's wedding.
I love working with creatives (they are both architects). Anh & Matthew were so laid back, fun and had a gorgeous day full of cultural and creative elements.
Just a couple of my favorites...

It has been so good working with you two so far. Now on to a killer album!!

Robert & Georgina // 08.16.08 // Puerto Vallarta

Ok faithful blog fanatics, I am officially back in the game!
Other weddings from the last 2 months are still coming...in the next month.

What a way to resume with Robert and Georgina's destination wedding in Puerto Vallarta.
Actually Georgina is originally from Puerto Vallarta but joins Robert at their homes in Cabo (2 of them), Santa Cruz and Scottsdale. Where they actually live, I don't know :) I think the latest frequent spot is Cabo since they are opening a winery downtown. So if you haven't guessed it yet, Robert is an entrepreneur in real estate, computer engineering, aircraft re-building, travel and title ownership (and I guess add restaurant ownership now). Georgina is just his young, beautiful, smart, attorney wife, that's all :)

So this wedding had both a destination feel with an all out family fiesta ending.

Just your average 6 story ocean front villa the family stayed at for the week prior to the wedding...(oh and me too for a few days)

10 4x4's 8 4x8 sheets of wood and some nice decor later, the pool was transformed into a cliff side venue.

The day prior, we drove about an hour and a half south of Puerto Vallarto to a little town called El Tuito for a civil ceremony. We shot some stylin' portraits on the way back.

I have no idea what this gentleman was singing but they sure made it sound festive!

Literally 5 minutes after the ceremony, it started downpouring. Luckily it let up about 10 minutes before sunset for a few family pics and down to the rocks below for some sunset photos to cap the night.

I never checked the temperature while down there (I'm lost when my iPhone gets negative 3 bars) but I can officially say it was the hottest I have ever been shooting a wedding. (something about being right in the middle of a rainforest had something to do with it) So I didn't blame Georgina for a second for changing during the reception.

Actually the "night" capped about 3:30am. They banned me from photos after midnight. Just kidding, I couldn't stand up anymore after 17 hours so I hit the sack. Party Pooper!

Congrats Robert and Georgina! You and your families were genuinely so fun and welcoming to me. It was a fiesta to remember.

I have a slideshow coming asap. I have to get Showit Web going again since I have changed computers and my laptop crashed.

I guess it would be easier to just show a picture:

copyright Beautiful Day Images 08.08.08

The only rings I saw last night.

We so "lucked" out yesterday with 85 deg weather and no rain. Thank you Chinese luck gods for not making me work on a day that was like 100+ deg. for an outside wedding. :)
One of my favs from a beautiful wedding yesterday.

Tara & Craig // 06.06.08

OK, this post has almost 50 images. That's some long winded photo posting. Hence I will keep the comments brief, since writing is obviously not my strong suit, (I hear those amens :( )

SLIDESHOW LINK AT THE END OF THE POST

I will say as I did in the post below though that Tara & Craig and their families have been so fun to work with. Aside from being such super nice people, they have been so excited about photography and into some great shoots.
June 6th was a gorgeous day and The Dominion House in Guthrie provided such a classy venue.

Here are the pros who made it happen. (as always, thank for giving me such great material to work with!!!)

another great alternate angle from Bethany.

now that's what I call a relaxed portrait.

I saw this same pose from an old photo inside. I don't know who it is of (help me out Julie) but it was cool to recreate it.

Photographers note: almost all these images were processed with the new Totally Rad Actions 2 : The Revenge. And Rad they are. Too tired tonight to put in which actions were used on which photos. Maybe soon.

Chrissy & Cory // 05.10.08

Whew! I have been shooting, editing & album designing like crazy lately. Sorry for neglecting you little blog. :(

I resume with some images below from Chrissy & Cory's beautiful spring wedding a month ago at Walnut Creek.

Here are the pros who made it all happen:
Accomodations: The Skirvin Hilton
Venue: Walnut Creek
Videography: Video Legacy

I got this alt. angle second shooting for myself. Thanks for the good idea to Eric the videographer!

"Heayyy" The best man/ bouncer. :)

A great shot (above) from Bethany Petrone, my faithful and talented second shooter!

The aforementioned best man got thrown a challenge when the ring was apparently tied to the pillow by an over-zealous boy scout. Fortunately he overcame it with brut force.

4 sisters+yellow outfits+yellow flowers+dance music=major fun!

Thanks so much for having me be a part Chrissy and Cory. Chrissy has made me feel so good the whole way because she has been so pumped about photography.
Here is part of a note she sent me after I posted their images on Pictage: "All worth it!!!!! They are so freaking good, I can't even believe how well all of them turned out! ...I'm so so pleased. I just thought I'd let you know how fabulous we all think they are. Thanks a bunch for everything..."

As you can imagine, hearing that regularly keeps me pretty motivated to get the most rockin' images possible for all you cool clients. Ha! Ok, yes that was a little shameless self-promotion. But it was at least a little bit thanking Chrissy for being so excited about my work. :)

I love it when couples see each other before hand. It allows for such great moments.

The whole wedding party limoed down to Michigan Ave and the river to do a little stylin' photo shoot.

I LUUUVE this shot!

This was shot at the Wrigley Building. Kim's Grandfather, Glen Bostrom once had a few floors of this building for his business and for many more years, had offices across the street at the Tribune Tower. I though it was so cool to take photos here.

Unscripted but not unexpected in the Windy City

Right smack dab in the middle of Michigan Ave. Yeah Baby!

Does it get an cuter than this? Ok, I know of one particular 8 month old that might do it for me:)

These next few were so awesome. Across the street from the venue was this amazing, classic Chicago park (did you know Chicago had tons of these little neighborhood parks? They make the city so interesting and welcoming.)

Light! it is so worth it to take advantage of the best light of the day for bride and groom photos!!!

These are some of my all time favorite bride and groom photos. I don't think any commentary is necessary.

I rented a few lenses for this busy week from BorrowLenses.com. They were awesome to work with. A Fisheye 15mm 2.8.

Emily & Eric
Emily was one of Kim's Maids of Honor and gave an awesome toast that if I understood right, she wrote while traveling in Spain. Very cool.
Anyway, Emily contacted me about shooting her wedding in Milwaukee next spring at the AMAZING Villa Terrace. This is my shameless request to let you know Emily how much I would love to come up there. Pleeeese! Ha ha.

Awesome DJs. Mixed the music old school the whole night and did a bang up job!

If I remember right, this would be the "Journey" time in the playlist.

A little head banging to close out the night.=!

Man I am thankful I got to be a part of such a great day with great people!

Kim and Jack were truly such fun people to be around. When I post their engagement photos in a day or two, you will see how much they just laugh together and enjoy being with each other. It was truly an honor to capture such a great weekend full of events and the times that are going to be so memorable for everyone involved.

Kristen & Ryan / 04.12.08 / updated!

Kristen & Ryan got married a couple weeks ago on a beautiful spring day (of course!)
It really was such a great experience working with these two. Ryan was always involved in the process and definitely the kind of guy I hope to continue to be friends with. They both really trusted me through the whole process from shooting to framing and scheduling the day of. Hence the perfect light for their B&G photos. More than anything, this couple cared for each other so much. That is one of the really cool benefits of working with a newlywed couple week after week. They can remind you so many times of the basics of what makes a relationship great.

Thanks you two for being so great and big congrats on your new life!!

here are all the great vendors who made it happen:
Venue: Walnut Creek
Hair: Cosmopolitan Salon
Makeup: Ulta

Videoography: Video Legacy

I suppose the last time she can wear this...

Gettin' her smoke on!

The girls traveled in style.

and this little diva for one was lovin' every minute of it.

I love it when couples see each other before hand. It usually allows for some great light and time to capture some very real and amazing images. I get to hang out in the distance and shoot authentic moments from some great angles.

My style of wedding party photos. Each week a little different, just like the people involved.

The big moment! (one of them at least)

Workin' the crowd.

Now the ones who really make it happen. Congrats parents!

The best of times indeed.

Congrats and thanks again Kristen and Ryan!

Raegan & Sam // 01/19/08

I made the trek up to Catoosa to a stylin' little chapel for Raegan & Sam's winter wedding. It was fast & crazy all night and lots of fun. Thanks so much for having me be a part!
From the Vesica Piscis Chapel:

Wow! Gorgeous!

No wonder Sam married such a beautiful girl! He looks like he belongs on the cover of GQ.

See a theme here? Pink, pink and more pink.

This was funny...I asked Sam if he worked for Leatherman. He just smiled and said, "No, I just like them...a lot!"

Hey, Who's here looking? Leave a comment below :)

Tara & Eric // 1/12/08

for return guests:
Tara's bridal photos are in the post below this one...

Wow! I am fired up about how many killer images we got on Saturday! Tara, her Mom, Tami & Wedding Consultant, Judy Lehmbeck did an amazing job of putting on a gorgeous winter wedding!!!
I can honestly say that it is families like these that make me love my job. I haven't had much more than a Sunday off since last April and usually those are spent just staying off my feet but being able to capture some of the best and most important moments and details of peoples lives certainly keeps me going.
This officially kicks off my re-vamped blog for 2008 so I hope you will tell everyone you know to come check it out.
Bigger images, more posts and Pro Content for other photographers are just a few things in store.

Congrats to Tara & Eric who are livin' it up in Disney World.

Ok, here are all the artists & designers that made this wedding shine:
Wedding Consultant: Judy Lehmbeck

Tara was so excited about her Carrie Bradshaw shoes! Nice!

In case you didn't know, Eric is a Oklahoma State Representative from Tulsa. It is good to know there are some truly good men in state politics. All he did all night was care for Tara. Bravo!

The Florist Ky Payton and cake designer, Johnnies Sweet Creations set this scene.

Reception Venue: Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club

Thanks to Jessica Claire for the good idea on how to shoot this one!

Here are a couple beautiful details and great moments caught by my second shooter, Bethany. Nice Job!

I don't know who this girl was but she has been watching Dancing With the Stars. She had some serious moves for her age.

Tie off... Party On!

I have been dying to show off Tara's bridal photos. Check back tomorrow.

Ok, I did the hard part, now you have to at least let me know who is here looking. I really want to know this year who visits. So you must comment! Do it! :)

Kendra & Caleb (Pismo Beach, CA)

Wow! Sorry for the delay since the last post. I got a nice 4 day x2 chance to see my parents in Wisconsin and have a great little baby shower for our little girl coming up. I still had weddings on the weekends so a lot of flying back and forth but so nice to visit home in the summer. I will have forthcoming posts on some of that coming up.
Last week, I once again had the sweet gig of shooting a coastal wedding. This one was half and half. It started at a beautiful victorian BnB just outside of Pismo Beach, CA. Then, of course, we hit the beach for the bride and groom shoot.
here are just a few of my favorites:

The parasols started as a great practical idea for the guests...

but really caught my eye and were a great accessory for the bride.

Thanks so much too Kendra and Caleb for including me to capture such a fun day. They were truly so happy to be married and it was contagious. They are off in the Riveria Maya for a week in the sun. Too bad they didn't invite me to shoot some beach portraits there. I just never get to do anything fun! (juuust kidding)
